In an unusual celebration, two female pole dancers were seen performing on the streets of Taiwan — not outside a nightclub, but next to a schoolboy who had just graduated.
The performance, which took place in broad daylight, was reportedly arranged by the boy’s parents to mark his graduation day with a touch of fun and spectacle.
Widely circulated videos on social media show the two dancers performing beside the student, who stood silently with folded hands. Dressed in short pants and a white shirt, resembling a school uniform, the boy did not join the celebration with any visible enthusiasm.

Many online viewers speculated that he appeared uncomfortable, suggesting that the performance may have embarrassed him rather than delighted.
The video was accessed by several local media channels, who described the scene: Dancers initially danced on the road and they soon climbed onto the roofs of two sports jeeps carrying separate poles to continue their performance.
The street-side celebration eventually drew a crowd and ended with police stepping in to disperse the gathering. The video has since gone viral, sparking debate over what counts as an appropriate celebration and where to draw the line.
Parent speaks
The boy’s mother clarified that one of her friends planned the pole dance-themed celebration for her son. She told the media that dancers were choreographed by her well-wisher friend, aiming to “stand out” among various graduation activities.
The parents hoped that in this quirky style, they would give "an unforgettable graduation gift" to the school kid.
"Ridiculous, shame on parents"
Chinese news outlet South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported several user comments reflecting public outrage. “It is so ridiculous. Shame on the boy’s parents,” one user wrote, while another added, “You can invite the pole dancers, but you can’t host a show near a school.”
