As their image and video editing projects halted, they took to different social media platforms to alert others that the website was facing a problem and temporarily down.

Canva team's response on outage
The problem was identified and acknowledged by the Canva team who prompted users to a "Connection timed out" screen.
The Canva status where one can view realtime updates, stated, "We’re aware of an issue where users are unable to access Canva and are encountering timeout errors when attempting to load the platform. Our engineering team is actively investigating and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible".
In an update around 1 PM (17.21 AEST), the team said, "We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue".
