Bhagalpur, Bihar: In Bihar's Bhagalpur district, a groom took his wedding procession on a boat instead of a luxury car due to heavy floods. This incident is from Bakarpur village of Pirpainti block of the district. Bakarpur Panchayat has been completely affected by the flood waters of the Ganga River for two weeks. In such a situation, Devmuni Kumar of this village had to ride a boat to cover a distance of 35 kilometers for his wedding.
Due to the heavy rains in Bihar and Nepal, the rivers of the state are in spate. Ganga and Kosi rivers are flowing above the danger mark at some places. Flood water has started entering the low-lying areas of many districts. The boy's father, Ramdev Mandal, said that the wedding date was fixed a month ago. Meanwhile, there was a severe flood in the Ganga River. Bakharpur village was also surrounded by flood water from all sides.
Baarat And Vidai Via Boat:
At a point when there was no way to leave the village, the wedding procession went by boat to the house of Ramchandra Chaudhary, a resident of Katakosh village in Manihari block of Katihar district. And after the wedding, he returned by the same boat with the bride.

The groom, Raja Devmuni Kumar, said that due to the flood in the Ganga River, there was no other way left to go to the bride's house. In such a situation, the wedding procession had to be taken on a boat. He said that there were 25 to 30 people in the wedding procession.
