Pitam Pura, Delhi: A restaurant from Delhi's Pitam Pura is making headlines for allegedly barring a couple from entering for not following their 'western' dress code. The couple protested against the restaurant for not allowing them inside for wearing Indian ethnic clothes. The incident is from Pitam Pura's newly opened Tubata Bar and Restaurant. Severe backlash is erupting against the restaurant.
The incident occurred on August 3 when an Indian couple, along with their friends, were barred at the restaurant's gate for wearing ethenic outfits. The couple recorded a video explaining why they were not allowed to enter and how the restaurant is allowing people in western outfits and 'skin showing dresses.'

Couple Protested Outside The Restaurant
The couple can be seen wearing decent clothes, where the man is wearing a t-shirt and pants, while the woman is wearing a salwaar-kameez. The couple claimed that the restaurant had hurt their sentiments and insulted Indian culture and a woman. The man in the video said, "The restaurant denied entry to us and allowed other people who were wearing shorts. They said that they won't allow an Indian ethenic dress code."
Later in the video, the protestors demand to close the restaurant, and the woman says, "A notice will be sent to Mr. Agarwal, who is the owner of the restaurant."
Another person who was recording the video said, "This restaurant only wants people who show their legs, if our Honbl. The president, and Honbl. Chief Ministers of Delhi, who are women themselves, visit here wearing a saree, will they still stop her from entering?"
Restaurant's Response
While Free Press Journal tried to reach the restaurant regarding the incident, there was no response. However, the restaurant's owner has published a video and issued an apology. Cabinet Minister, Kapil Mishra, who is also the BJP's vice-president in Delhi, took to X to share an update on the matter. He wrote, "The operators of this Pitampura restaurant have accepted that they will no longer impose any restrictions based on attire and will welcome citizens coming in Indian attire."
Special Offer On Rakshabandhan
The restaurant has also mentioned that on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, they will be offering a special discount offer for 'sisters' coming in an Indian attire.
