Agra: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Agra, where a young man set himself on fire in a hotel room on Tuesday, April 8. The incident took place at the King Park Avenue Hotel. The incident was caught on CCTV installed in the hotel and the video clip soon went viral on social media.
Woman's Marriage Was Fixed With Another Man
The woman's marriage was finalised by her family with some other guy. The man was disturbed due to this. According to reports, the young man came to the hotel with his girlfriend. He then reportedly called her father and asked him to break her marriage.
What Hotel Staff Said
Hotel manager Ankit Tandon speaking to a news channel said the two were arguing over some dispute. Tandon further stated that screams started coming from inside the room. It was later known that the boy had poured kerosene on himself and set himself on fire.
The video shows, the man came running out of the room after setting himself on fire. He then went down from the stairs. He who took the extreme step in rage. His girlfriend immediately tried to extinguish the fire. In this attempt, she also suffered burns.
Soon there was chaos in the entire hotel. It is also visible in the footage that the man removes the shirt burning in flames.
As soon as the information of the incident was received, police rushed to the spot. The police took the injured boyfriend and girlfriend to the hospital. Both are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital and their condition is reportedly stable.
Police Action
The police is questioning the hotel staff and trying to find out how kerosene reached the hotel room and whether anyone else was present in the room at the time of the incident.
Cops have sealed the hotel room and the forensic team also reached the spot to collect evidence from the room.
The Police are also trying to find out whether it was a suicide attempt or there was some other reason behind the incident.
