Elon Musk brings a new EV-focused dining experience in Hollywood |

Tesla has officially opened its long-anticipated retro-futuristic diner and drive-in theater in Hollywood, California, offering a unique blend of 1950s Americana and cutting-edge technology. Located on Santa Monica Boulevard, the site is designed to serve both nostalgia and innovation, merging Tesla's signature tech ecosystem with a casual dining experience.

You can watch the diner in the video embedded below:

At the heart of the diner’s innovation is its integration with Tesla’s in-car systems. Owners of Tesla vehicles can place food orders directly from their car’s touchscreen either before arrival or while parked. Meals are then delivered straight to the driver’s side window in boxes designed to resemble miniature Cybertrucks, enhancing the brand continuity.

The dining area also features Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, which has been spotted serving snacks like popcorn to customers. While Optimus is still in development, its presence in the diner offers a glimpse into Tesla’s broader ambitions around robotics and AI-powered service. Other robotic elements, including automated food preparation and delivery mechanisms, are part of the experience, though not fully autonomous at launch.

The site includes 80 V4 Supercharger stalls — the largest number in any urban location globally — and is compatible with all NACS (North American Charging Standard) electric vehicles, not just Teslas. This positions the location as a major hub for EV users in the Los Angeles area.

Inside, diners can enjoy comfort food classics and view short films or clips on large outdoor screens while charging their vehicles. While the menu remains conventional, the delivery and ordering system reflect Tesla’s focus on integrating user convenience and tech-driven efficiency.

CEO Elon Musk has hinted at the possibility of opening similar venues in other cities, suggesting this could become a recurring format for Tesla’s Supercharging infrastructure.

By embedding robotics, automation, and seamless digital integration, Tesla's new diner goes beyond novelty and hints at a broader rethinking of the roadside experience in an EV-first world.
