Samsung is reported to unveil a new tri-fold smartphone at its Summer Galaxy event on July 9. The event is confirmed to unveil Samsung’s updated line of foldables – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. A new leak unravels that the company may also unveil a tri-fold smartphone that folds two times. This isn’t the first time a triple folding device was unveiled by an OEM manufacturer. Huawei unveiled its first triple folding smartphone – the Mate XT Ultimate - last year and Samsung may be looking to add it to its portfolio as well.
Popular Chinese tipster Instant Digital posted on social media site Weibo that Samsung will unveil a tri-fold smartphone at its upcoming Galaxy event in New York. Apart from this information, the tipster reveals little else about the device. Samsung has not announced or teased any information regarding this new tri-fold smartphone.
The company has only confirmed the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. It is even taking pre-reservations for the devices in the Indian market.
However, with Huawei already entering this new triple folding smartphone space, it could be possible that Samsung also wants a smartphone variant in the market to compete with the Mate XT Ultimate. Samsung has been a pioneer in the folding smartphone space and it will look to keep that lead.
