Google has announced the rollout of an Android 16-based August software update for all supported Pixel devices. The update brings along the monthly bug fixes and general improvements. All Pixel users are advised to update immediately, to keep their phoines up to date and free from any breach or hack. The company says that the rollout will continue over the next week in phases, depending on carrier and device.
The tech giant is rolling out the latest Android 16 update to supported Pixel devices for now. This includes the Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Pixel 9a. This comes just days ahead of the Pixel 10 series launch on August 20. The entire upcoming Pixel 10 range will run on Android 16 out-of-the-box.
Google says that users will receive a notification once the system update is available for their device. User can alternatively check for the update manually by heading over to Settings > System Update.
The August 2025 Android 16 update includes general improvements for system stability and performance in user interface. It brings a fix for an issue where the scheduled dark theme was not working in certain conditions, and fixes issues with 3-button navigation and gesture navigation in certain conditions.
