Widely used online graphic design platform, Canva, encountered a temporary outage earlier this morning, disrupting services for users across multiple countries, including India. The issue began around 8:00am IST and was reported on Downdetector by many users within a few hours.
The majority of complaints—around 49 percent—were related to website inaccessibility, while 40 percent cited server connection errors. A smaller share, approximately 11 percent, reported issues with the mobile app. The disruptions affected core functionalities such as image uploads, saving changes on designs, and real-time design collaboration, particularly impacting professionals relying on the platform for time-sensitive projects.
India accounted for many reports during the downtime. Many users faced delays in completing their design tasks, prompting them to seek clarification and share their experiences on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Some expressed frustration, while others turned the situation into an opportunity for humor, creating memes around the brief service interruption.
Outage reports peaked around 10:00 AM, after which Canva's technical team appears to have addressed the issue. As of now, the platform’s services are back online and functioning as expected.
While Canva has not released an official statement detailing the cause of the disruption, normal operations have resumed. Users are advised to refresh the platform or reinstall the app if they continue to face issues.
