iPhone 17 Air specifications and features
The iPhone Air boasts a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a significant upgrade from the 60Hz screen of its predecessor, the iPhone 16 Plus. With a remarkably thin 5.5mm profile, it is the slimmest iPhone ever, featuring an aluminium frame for durability and a premium aesthetic. It is powered by Apple’s new five-core A19 Pro chip, paired with 8GB of RAM, enhancing performance for multitasking and Apple Intelligence features.
The device includes a single 48-megapixel Fusion main camera with an f/1.6 aperture, sensor-shift optical image stabilization, and 2X telephoto capabilities. The front features an 18-megapixel Centre Stage camera, consistent with other iPhone 17 models. Connectivity is bolstered by the N1 chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and thread capabilities, alongside the new C1X modem, which offers twice the networking speed of the iPhone 16e’s C1 modem while being more energy-efficient.
The iPhone Air’s battery capacity is rumored to be between 2,800mAh and 3,100mAh, smaller than the 4,674mAh battery in the iPhone 16 Plus, but Apple claims it delivers "all-day" battery life with up to 27 hours of video playback. To address battery concerns, Apple is reportedly developing an accessory to extend daily battery life. The phone runs on iOS 26, supporting advanced Apple Intelligence features, and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Apple has integrated Adaptive Power Mode on the iPhone 17 Air that anticipates when you may run out of battery. Apple has also unveiled case and body strap accessories alongside.
