The Women's Premier League (WPL 2025) auction concluded in Bengaluru on Sunday and Indian players managed to grab headlines after bagging record breaking contracts. Simran Shaikh clinched the biggest cheque in the Women's Premier League 2025 auction in Bengaluru on Sunday. Gujarat Giants spent a whooping Rs 1.9 crore to sign the Indian batter, making her the second-most expensive uncapped player in WPL history.

The 22-year-old Mumbai-born cricketer entered the auction with a base price of ₹30 lakh as Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants battle for her signature. Gujarat took a step back to think when the bid reached ₹1.6 crore but after some discussion and head-scratching, they re-entered the bidding process with ₹1.7 crore. Delhi also took a considerable time to up their bid by ₹10 lakh but Gujarat finally won the bid by paying ₹1.9 crore.

West Indies' big-hitting all-rounder Deandra Dottin was the second biggest but with ₹1.70 crore. Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz competed fiercely to sign the West Indies all-rounder who had a reserve price of ₹50 lakh, before Gujarat franchise signed her

G Kamalini joins MI for 1.6 cr

Tamil Nadu's young all-rounder G Kamalini became the youngest crorepati after being signed by Mumbai Indians for ₹1.6 cr. . Known for her explosive batting Kamalini delivered an outstanding performance in the U-19 tri-series final against South Africa, scoring 79 runs for India 'B'.

This remarkable innings secured her a spot in the Indian squad for the inaugural U-19 Asia Cup 2024 in Malaysia, where she has already made a significant impact. Earlier, Kamalini played a crucial role with a 29-ball 44 in a decisive run chase against Pakistan at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
