NBA stars Dwight Howard and Lance Stephenson were involved in a heated physical fight during the LA Riot vs Miami 305 game as the opening weekend of the 2025 Big3 season got underway. Both players were ejected after a full-blown brawl took place as the security officials struggled to separate the two from going at one another.
Tensions had already been simmering throughout the match and the situation took turn for the worse during the closing minutes of the contest between the two sides. It was Stephenson raising his hand at Howard's chest that triggered a brawl. Moments later, the situation well and truly got out of control as the scuffle extended to the fans' section.

Howard notably had Stevenson in a headlock, with the latter dragging him into the fans' section. Both players were immediately ejected from the game and it resumed without them in it. Notably, Stephenson also had a run in with Jordan Crawford, who appeared to poke him in the nose. Stephenson reacted to that by throwing a punch but managed to stay in the game.
Miami emerge triumphant over LA Riot
As far as the match result is concerned, Miami 305 emerged victorious 50-44. The game was also the Big3 debuts for Howard and Stephenson. Howard, the 39-year-old, is a highly accomplished player, having won the Defensive Player of the Year thrice and won the title with the Lakers in 2020.
Stephenson, meanwhile, has played in 10 NBA seasons so far with nine different teams and has built his reputation as an aggressive high-energy superstar.
