Lucknow Super Giants' star Digvesh Rathi was seen engaging in a beef with Ankit Kumar during the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 match between South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions in Delhi. With Rathi backing off before delivering the ball and the Ankit doing the same, the southpaw hammered him for two consecutive sixes later in the innings and signaled it with his gloves.

The moment occurred when West Delhi Lions were batting during the fifth over of the innings as they were chasing 186 for victory. Rathi was the first to pull out of his action among the two, while Ankit did the same when the leggie was ready to send down the delivery, sparking a heated moment.
Rathi seemingly hurled some words at the batter but managed to complete the over. It was in the 12th over of the innings that the 27-year-old came on to bowl again and leaked two consecutive sixes against Ankit.

Although the Delhi-born cricketer had a promising debut IPL season while featuring for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), he faced plenty of disciplinary issues due to his infamous notebook send-off. As a result, Rathi was fined multiple times by the IPL governing council.
As far as the result between the South Delhi Superstarz and West Delhi Lions go, the latter won by eight wickets. Chasing a stiff total of 186, Ankit smashed 96 off only 46 deliveries, laced with 11 fours and six sixes. His partnership with Krish Yadav, who struck a breezy 67, broke the back of the run-chase and all the Lions needed was 15.4 overs to gun down the target.
