Mumbai, August 13: Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's 25-year-old son Arjun Tendulkar has reportedly got engaged to Saaniya Chandok who is the granddaughter of well-known businessman from Mumbai, Ravi Ghai, as per reports from India Today.
While Sachin Tendulkar is celebrated as one of the greatest batsmen in cricket history, Arjun has chosen a different path as a left-arm fast bowler. He is yet to make his debut for the Indian Cricket Team but has already played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians. In his five IPL appearances so far, Arjun has taken three wickets.
Arjun began his domestic cricket career with Mumbai during the 2020–21 season, making his T20 debut against Haryana. Before that, he represented Mumbai at the junior level and also played in India’s Under-19 setup.
In 2022–23, Arjun moved from Mumbai to Goa in search of more opportunities. With Goa, he made his First-Class and List A debuts. Over 17 First-Class matches, he has claimed 37 wickets, including one five-wicket haul. His batting record includes 532 runs, with a century and two half-centuries to his name.
The Ghai family has a strong presence in the hospitality and food industry, with business interests that include the InterContinental hotel and the ice cream brand Brooklyn Creamery. Despite her influential background, Saaniya largely stays away from the public spotlight. She is reportedly the Designated Partner and Director of Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, a pet care venture based in Mumbai.
According to reports, the engagement was a private celebration attended only by close relatives and friends from both families. So far, neither the Tendulkar family nor the Ghai family has released an official statement about the occasion.
The engagement marks a new chapter in Arjun’s personal life, even as he continues to build his cricket career and carve out his own identity in the sport, away from his father’s towering legacy.
