Originally set to be inaugurated on May 13, the ceremony had been postponed due to the temporary suspension of IPL 2025 following tensions between India and Pakistan. With stability restored and the tournament back on track, the MCA is now ready to honour the local legend
Positioned on the eastern wing of the stadium, the stand now bears the name of the Mumbai-born batting maestro, whose contributions to Indian cricket have spanned nearly two decades. The tribute places Rohit Sharma in the company of greats who have left their mark on Wankhede a venue where cricketing history has often been written.
