Famous cricket umpire Kumar Dharmasena recently uploaded a picture with his wife Dushyanti Gunewardena on his official Instagram account and it created a lot of buzz. A host of users commented on Dharmasena's photo, claiming that she resembled a lot like tv and Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant.

Dharmasena, a former Sri Lankan cricketer, took up umpiring after finishing his playing career in 2004. Having officiated in well over 250 international games, the 54-year-old is one of the best going around. However, he has also been at the centre of a few controversies.

Kumar Dharmasena not included in the umpires list for Asia Cup 2025

Meanwhile, the veteran umpire hasn't been included in the umpires list for the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. The umpires for the multi-nation tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are India’s Virender Sharma and Rohan Pandit, Bangladesh’s Gazi Sohel and Masudur Rahman, Sri Lanka’s Raveendra Wimalasiri and Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Afghanistan’s Ahmad Pakteen and Izatullah Safi, and Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob and Faisal Afridi.

The tournament began with Afghanistan defeating the Hong Kong by 94 runs at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, registering a handsome victory. India took on the UAE on the second day of the event, beating them by nine wickets. Bangladesh are currently facing Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi and it promises to be a close encounter.

Nevertheless, the match fans will most looking forward to will be the one between India and Pakistan in Dubai on September 14. The two sides will face one another on the backdrop of a recent military skrimish between the countries. Hence, the atmosphere at the stadium should be electrifying.
