Pakistani politician or Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori has promised a stunning reward of PKR 1 crore for the national team if they beat India in the much-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 clash on Sunday in Dubai. During a conversation with the channel ARY News, Tessori said he thoroughly hopes for the Men in Green to emerge victorious.
Having suffered a humiliating 60-run loss to New Zealand in their opening match at the National Stadium in Karachi, Mohammad Rizwan and co. are on the brink ahead of their clash against India. With India starting their tournament with a confident win over Bangladesh, Pakistan need a performance of a lifetime on a slow Dubai surface to beat the Men in Blue.
Speaking to ARY News, Tessori claimed:
"Pakistani team jeeti toh main apne jeb se 1 crore rupaih team ke liye announce kar raha hoon. Aisa nahin ki haar jeet ho toh apni team ko, apne logon ko, dil se nahin lagaayenge. Waise bhi hamaare sar ka taaj hai. Lekin poori kaum dua kar rahi hai. Aur inshallah hamaari jeet hogi."
(If Pakistan team wins, I promise to give them 1 crore from my side. it's not that we won't care about the players if they lose. They are our pride but the entire country is praying for a win and hope we will achieve it.)
"Passion and pressure is what are needed to show a player his performance" - Aaqib Javed
During a presser on Saturday, Pakistan coach Aaqib Javed suggested that the players are relishing the pressure of an India-Pakistan contest. He said, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:
"See, what is pressure? To do well? And or if it doesn't go well, what will happen? These are the thoughts before and after the match. Right now, we are all guessing what will happen in this match. This is the beauty of it, what will happen. Nobody knows anything. So, in the same way, taking pressure is the job of the players. If you remove this pressure, what's left in a Pakistan-India game? Passion and pressure is what are needed to show a player his performance."
