A fan named Farooq Nazar was asked by the authorities to cover his green Pakistan jersey amid the Old Trafford Test between India and England that took place from July 23 to 27 in Manchester, seemingly due to regulations. A video of the same surfaced on social media as the fan kept questioning the authorities at the venue, given they asked him to cover the Pakistan jersey.

The fan in question was seen wearing a replica of Pakistan's 2019 World Cup jersey and came to attend the gripping Test between India and England. Nazar initially requested one of the officers at the Old Trafford for a written note that his green jersey must be covered and was later asked by some cops to come out of the venue for a chat.

It was unclear on which day the incident occurred and Lancashire said they were investigating the incident, as reported by ESPN Cricinfo. A Lancashire Cricket Spokesperson issued a statement below, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

"We are aware of the incident referenced and are taking steps to understand the facts and context surrounding the matter fully."

Old Trafford Test between India and Pakistan ends in a gripping draw

As far as the state of the Old Trafford Test goes, it ended in a gripping draw as Team India displayed remarkable resilience to keep the scoreline to 2-1 ahead of the fifth and final match of the series. Coming into day five, the tourists had already set for themselves a solid foundation as KL Rahul and Shubman Gill had struck unbeaten fifties.

Although Gill crossed the three-figure mark, Rahul fell ten runs short. But both fell before lunch, giving England a shot at victory. Nevertheless, the hosts ended the next two sessions as Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja also completed their tons.

The fifth and final Test begins on July 31 at The Kia Oval.
