Football fans in India will have their eyes locked on the month of December this year as football icon Lionel Messi is scheduled to visit to the country. According to Khel now report, Messi will be visiting Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi between December 13 and 15 for a number of events which will honour his remarkable football career.
When is Lionel Messi coming to Mumbai?
While the date of Messi's Mumbai visit is yet to be confirmed, Khel Now report states that the World Cup winner will be meeting cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar during exclusive gathering at Brabourne Stadium. Messi will also be involved in the events and workshops centred around grassroots football.
Lionel Messi may visit the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium or the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium while in Delhi, where he is expected to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Programme iternary for Lionel Messi's India visit
This will be Messi's second visit to India, having come to Kolkata before, when he played a friendly match against Venezuela back in 2011. As per My Khel report a felicitation programme is being prepared in Kolkata for the Inter Miami star.
The felicitation is set to take place at the iconic Eden Gardens, where around 70,000 spectators will have the chance to watch the Argentine legend.
A football match of 30 minutes, separated into halves of 15 minutes, is also being exptected to be played with Messi likely to take part in the early stages of the match, which will involve cricketers, footballers and probably a few celebrities as well.
Lionel Messi may also participate in a session with the budding footballers in the city. Although the activity is not confirmed, but it remains a possibility.
