840 Billion Minutes Of Total Watch-Time! IPL 2025 Final Notches Record Viewership Numbers

The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) final between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) contested at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has broken a staggering number of records. The final proved to be the highlight of the season, with the total watch-time for the season hitting 840 billion minutes.

The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) final between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) contested at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has broken a staggering number of records. The final proved to be the highlight of the season, with the total watch-time for the season hitting 840 billion minutes.

The heart-stopping final, which ended RCB's quest of winning the IPL trophy, prompted fans all over the world to tune in for action. Across both TV and digital platforms, the fixture clocked 31.7 billion minutes of watch-time, as per JioStar, the official broadcaster and digital partner of IPL 2025.

As far as TV goes, Star Sports surged a viewership of 15 billion minutes of watch-time, aggregating 169 million viewers, proving to the most for any T20 match. Jio Hotstar managed to accumulate 892 million video views alongside 55 million peak views at one time and 16.74 billion minutes of watch-time. The 2025 edition saw the Jio Hotstar's watch-time grow by a staggering 29 per cent from 2024, with with 23.1 billion views and 384.6 billion minutes viewership.

The excitement of the tournament seems to have only risen after the tournament resumed following a week-long suspension. The final proved to be the most most-watched T20 game in history, especially with Virat Kohli breaking down after RCB ended their long wait.

Sanjog Gupta, CEO of Sports and Live Experiences at Jio Star, thanked the BCCI and all other stakeholders in helping raise the bar in viewership in their platforms. Gupta stated, as quoted by India Today:

"The incredible viewership numbers are reinforcement of our belief in the commitment to serve fans and the potential for growth of even a scaled property like the TATA IPL. We would also thank BCCI and our partners, whose support is critical in our endeavor to constantly raise the bar on industry-defining experiences we offer on our platforms."

Krunal Pandya earned the Player of the Match award for his figures of 4-0-17-3 in the final.
