It was a tough day at the office for young Chennai Super Kings batter Shaik Rasheed during the IPL 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 20-year-old not only got out for a golden duck but also made a fielding error that left captain MS Dhoni visibly upset

The moment happened in the eighth over of SRH’s innings. Sam Curran bowled a full delivery outside off stump, and Ishan Kishan pushed it into the off-side and went for a quick single. Rasheed, stationed at extra cover, rushed in and threw the ball towards the non-striker's end even though there was no fielder backing up.

The throw missed the stumps and raced away, allowing Kishan to sneak an extra run. It was a simple situation that could have been avoided with better judgment. Dhoni, known for his calm demeanour, couldn’t hide his frustration. As the players changed ends, cameras caught Dhoni gesturing toward Rasheed, tapping his head to signal that the youngster should think before acting.

The match didn’t go well for Rasheed in any department. Earlier, he was dismissed on the very first ball he faced, unable to handle a sharp delivery from Mohammed Shami. With just 46 runs from four matches this season, pressure is mounting on the young opener.

CSK crumble at home against SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) registered a solid 5-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their IPL 2025 clash held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Chennai Super Kings were bowled out for 154 in 19.5 overs. Dewald Brevis, making his much-anticipated debut for CSK, impressed with a fiery 42 off just 25 deliveries, including one boundary and four towering sixes.

Opener Ayush Mhatre provided a brisk start with a quickfire 30 off 19 balls, hitting six boundaries. However, CSK’s innings faltered as they struggled to build lasting partnerships. Harshal Patel was the standout performer with the ball for SRH, finishing with figures of 4 for 28 in his full quota of 4 overs.

In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down the target comfortably, scoring 155 for 5 in 18.4 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan led the charge with a fluent 44 off 34 balls,. Kamindu Mendis chipped in with a handy 32 off 22 balls. For CSK , Noor Ahmad was the most effective, claiming 2 wickets for 42 runs in his 4 overs
