Team India stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were furious at Kuldeep Yadav as the left-arm wrist-spinner wasn't aware enough to collect the ball at the non-striker's end in the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final against Australia in Dubai. A video of the same emerged on social media as Rohit and Kohli were shouting at Kuldeep.
The incident occurred when Alex Carey drove one through the cover off Kuldeep's bowling and Kohli threw the ball immediately to keep it down to a single. However, both Rohit and Kohli and seemingly saw an opportunity to run out Carey. Nevertheless, the Kanpur-born wrist-spinner walked back to his mark.
Below is the video of the same:
Kuldeep, who took two vital wickets against New Zealand at the same venue, has gone wicketless against Australia thus far. However, he couldn't be ruled out as he is a dangerous operator in the death overs.
Half-centuries from Alex Carey and Steve Smith lift Australia to 264 in 49.3 overs
Meanwhile, Alex Carey and Steve Smith struck 61 and 73 runs, respectively, to propel Australia to 264 in 49.3 overs. For India, Mohammed Shami starred with the ball, picking up three wickets. Indian spinners combined for only five wickets, unlike nine in the game vs New Zealand.
The current game is the first ODI between India and Australia since the 2023 World Cup final which the former lost in Ahmedabad.
