Amid reports floating about Jasprit Bumrah’s unavailability for the second Test against England due to workload management, ex-Indian keeper-batter Kiran More believes the fast bowler will certainly feature at Edgbaston in Birmingham. More stated that the 31-year-old loves playing Test cricket and suggested that no one knows his body better than himself.

The right-arm speedster had a considerably heavy workload in the opening Test against England in Leeds, sending down 44.4 overs. Although Bumrah picked up a fifer in the first innings, he went wicketless in the second as England gunned down 371 for victory. Head coach Gautam Gambhir had revealed before the series that Bumrah will be available only for three Tests.

When asked about his opinion on whether Bumrah will play the 3rd Test, More said while speaking to the Free Press Journal on the sidelines of a Str8bat event in Mumbai:

“Sitting here, I cannot comment on that but definitely I know Jasprit a bit. He loves to play Test cricket, so I don’t think there will be any issues. So, I don’t think there will be any issues. Every bowler bowls 25-50 overs in Test matches. So, I think he knows his body very well. He is a guy who will say, ‘I’m not available for this Test’. But he is also a guy, who loves playing Test cricket. He will definitely play the next Test.”

"I think he will bounce back big time in fielding as well" - Kiran More on Yashasvi Jaiswal

When asked about Yashasvi Jaiswal being in the negative light due to his dropped catches, the 62-year-old said he backs the youngster to bounce back from his setbacks.

“I think it’s a new world altogether. In digital media, everything happens. I think he is a guy who will focus, he got a brilliant hundred and he’s got off to a great start. It’s part of the game. You take some catches and you miss some. But these young kids are fearless. They don’t use mobile phones much and instead keep their mind fresh. So, I think he will bounce back big time in fielding as well.”
