Team India all-rounder Shardul Thakur revealed that he strongly predicted for Jasprit Bumrah will take a fifer before the start of the play on day two of the third Test against England at the Lord's Cricket Ground. Thakur suggested that Bumrah was not believing it but accomplished the feat.

Bumrah, who returned to the playing XI for the decisive 3rd Test at Prasidh Krishna's expense, starred with a fifer to restrict England to 387. The right-arm speedster claimed his second five-wicket haul of the series. In the process, the 31-year-old etched his name on the Lord's honours board.

Speaking in a video uploaded by the BCCI, Thakur said in the dressing room:

"I predicted that he was going to take a fifer today morning. He was not believing it, he got it."

"I'm not 21-22 anymore that I'll jump around" - Jasprit Bumrah

When asked by a reporter why Bumrah didn't celebrate his fifer, the right-arm pacer revealed that he was tired after a lengthy spell and was just glad to contribute. He stated, as quoted by The Hindustan Times:

"The reality is that I was tired. There was no happiness factor. I bowled for a long time on the field, and sometimes I get tired. I'm not 21-22 anymore that I'll jump around. I'm usually not like that. I was happy that I contributed. Other than that, I just wanted to go back to my mark and bowl the next ball."

The tourists finished the day at 145/3, trailing by 242 more runs.
