England's batting kingpin Joe Root became Team India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah's victim for the 11th time in Tests as the star bowler dismissed him on day two at Lord's. Although the right-handed batter did make a hundred, he only added five runs to his tally from being unbeaten at 99* on day one.
The Yorkshire batter end his nervous wait for the hundred in the very first ball of day two, chalking up a boundary off Bumrah's bowling. After cleaning up Ben Stokes for 44 in the 86th over of the innings, the right-arm speedster castled Root for 104, denting the home side's chances of amassing a competitive total massively. Bumrah also followed it up with the wicket of Chris Woakes on the very first ball.

Speaking to BBC after day one at Lord's, Ollie Pope heaped praise on Root for his work ethic and how the veteran has inspired others.
"Joe Root has inspired everyone in the changing room and in this country. His work ethic and the way he goes about his cricket is inspirational over such a long career. Fingers crossed he can make it a massive one tomorrow."
Nitish Kumar Reddy was the pick of the bowlers for India on day one, taking two wickets.
