Ex-England pacer Stuart Broad hit out at ICC for imposing a fine on Mohammed Siraj for his fiery send-off to Ben Duckett on day four of the third Test at the Lord's Cricket Ground. Broad underlined that Shubman Gill abused on the field live and got to carry on without any penalties, pointing out inconsistencies.

With day five of the Lord's Test looming, Siraj was fined 15% of his match fees for roaring at Duckett's face after dismissing the left-hander cheaply on day four. Additionally, the 31-year-old was also given a demerit point. Meanwhile, Gill was heard hurling an explosive rant during the closing minuts of day three as the Indian skipper accused the Englishmen of wasting time.

Taking to X, Broad wrote:

"Find this ridiculous. Siraj 15% for aggressive celebration. Gill swears live on tv & carries on and what? It’s either both or neither. Players aren’t and shouldn’t be robots but consistency is key."

Mohammed Siraj had received a demerit point last year during the Australia tour

Notably, the demerit point is Siraj's second in the 24-month period, having copped one last year during the Adelaide Test against Australia for another fiery send-off to Travis Head. 4 demerit points for a player within the 24-month period would mean they are converted into suspension points and the cricketer is banned.

Meanwhile, the Lord's Test will head to day five, with India requiring 135 more runs. England's late spark reduced the tourists to 58/4 after being 41/1 at one stage.
