England have decided to wait on Jofra Archer as they have announced an unchanged XI for the second Test against India at Edgbaston, Birmingham, beginning on July 2. The hosts could only included Archer for the third Test of the series set to be staged by the Lord's Cricket Ground.

The Barbadian earned an inclusion in the squad for the second Test after sending down 18 overs in the County Championship Division 1 game for Sussex against Durham. However, Archer being prone to injuries likely meant that England have resisted their temptation to bring in the right-arm speedster for the Edgbaston Test.
The 30-year-old's inclusion would also have created selection conundrums for England, given Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue and Chris Woakes had done a commendable job in their own right in the opening Test in Leeds.
Nevertheless, the star of the show was Ben Duckett, who peeled off a nerveless 149 in the fourth innings to help India gun down 371. With the hosts already holding a 1-0 lead, India are under immense pressure. Should England take a 0-2 lead, it will be incredibly difficult for Shubman Gill and co. to stage a comeback.
