Team India has unveiled their new tri-colour jersey for the upcoming Champions Trophy, featuring ‘Pakistan’ imprinted on it. During a special photoshoot, Indian players received their respective T20I and ODI Team of the Year caps, while Arshdeep Singh was seen with his ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award.
The BCCI shared a behind-the-scenes video on social media, showing glimpses of the team heading to the photoshoot. In a light-hearted moment, skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were seen chatting in the car about the number of ICC events they have participated in.
"Abhi hum ja rahe hai headshot photoshoot ke liye, very excited, acchi photo aaye, photogenic ekdum," said Jadeja. Later Rohit was seen counting the ICC tournaments he has played in:
"Ye 15th hai mera, 9 T20 World Cup, 3 ODI World Cup, 2 Champions Trophy, aur 2 World Test Championship bhi." He then jokingly added, "17 baar bulaya unlog ne ye sab karne."
Rohit also started counting Jadeja’s ICC appearances, saying, "9 T20 World Cup khele hai tune." Jadeja, however, clarified that he didn’t feature in the 2007 and 2012 T20 World Cups.
During the photoshoot, players were seen signing bats. As Rishabh Pant was signing, Arshdeep Singh said, "The signatures are getting smaller since you are signing on the each bat."
Team India shifts focus to Champions Trophy
After a 3-0 ODI series win against England, Team India has reached to Dubai for the ICC Champions Trophy and have started practising at ICC Academy Ground.
Ahead of the tournament India suffers a huge blow as Rishabh Pant injured his knee after being hit on first training session on Sunday. However team physio came immediately to check him but Pant looked fine and soon he continued his batting practice.
According to reports, on Monday Pant skipped the wicket-keeping and fielding practice sessions he wasn't looking good during batting practice sessions.
Team India's schedule
India’s first match in the Champions Trophy 2025 is against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, followed by the much-awaited clash against Pakistan on February 23 and against New Zealand on March 2.
