The Khadakwasla dam, one of Pune's key water sources, has reached a promising 62.17% storage as of June 23, bringing slight relief amid ongoing water concerns.

This comes as the collective water stock in the four major dams supplying water to Pune—Khadakwasla, Panshet, Temghar, and Warasgaon—stands at 35.83%, higher than the 12.28% recorded on the same date last year.

Water levels are expected to increase now with more rains.

Panshet reservoir is at 31.34%, while Temghar stands at 18.78%. Additionally, the Warasgaon dam stands at 40.44% capacity.

While Pavana's water level lies at 45.81% and Kasarsai at 80.07%, Mulshi stands at 37.98%.

Now, as the dam staorage looks over 50 percent, the city will not face any more water cuts.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a dip in rainfall activity across Maharashtra this week, with light to moderate showers expected in several regions. In Pune, residents can expect light to moderate rain from June 23 to June 26, indicating a relatively steady but subdued monsoon phase. While the showers may bring relief from the heat, heavy downpours are not anticipated during this period.
