In yet another swift and heroic response, the Erandwane Fire Brigade successfully rescued a 20-year-old youth trapped in a riverbed near Pandit Farm, adjacent to D.P. Road, on Monday morning.
At approximately 8:30 AM, the Erandwane Fire Station received an emergency call reporting a boy stuck in the riverbed. Without delay, the fire brigade rushed to the scene with a fire engine and initiated a well-coordinated rescue operation.
Using safety gear including a life jacket, rope, and rescue ring, the team managed to pull the youth to safety within just ten minutes of arrival.
The rescued youth has been identified as Vedant Kulkarni, a resident of Erandwane. He was immediately transported to Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in a government ambulance for medical evaluation and treatment.

Last week, Kharadi Police officials rescued a biker stranded on an embankment on the Mula-Mutha River.
As seen in the video, the biker was stranded on the embankment as the river’s water level rose following heavy rains. After noticing him, the Kharadi Police officials formed a human chain and safely evacuated him.
Given the rapidly rising water level and the risk of him being swept away, the police immediately alerted the fire brigade. However, with the increasing water flow and urgency of the situation, the police team decided to act swiftly.
