In a shocking twist in the case involving Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Jaykumar Gore, a woman who had made serious allegations against him has been arrested by the Satara police in an extortion case.
She had demanded Rs 3 crore to settle the case, and the police arrested her while she was accepting Rs 1 crore as extortion. The Satara Local Crime Branch took this action.

What was the matter?
The woman had alleged that Gore, MLA of Maan-Khatav constituency in Satara district, had harassed her since 2016 simply because she was a descendant of Sarsenapati Hambirrao Mohite. She had also claimed that Gore sent her nude photos on WhatsApp to harass her. Fed up with this harassment, she filed a complaint with the Satara police, and a case was registered.
Gore had approached the Satara District Court and the Mumbai High Court to avoid arrest. However, his bail application was rejected, and he was arrested. He spent ten days in jail, as the woman had stated in a letter.
In 2019, the Satara District Sessions Court acquitted Jaykumar Gore in the case. It was claimed by Gore’s office that the records related to the case were ordered to be deleted. However, it was now alleged that Gore had apologized to the woman in court at that time for sending her nude photos.
The victim woman has since complained that she is being harassed again. She also stated that the complaint filed in 2016 has gone viral on WhatsApp groups in 2025. Moreover, the woman claimed her name has now been revealed, adding to the harassment. Additionally, she has alleged that Gore had filed a false complaint through his PA, Abhijit Kale, claiming she had demanded a ransom of two crores to put pressure on her.
Earlier this month, Gore had submitted breach of privilege notices against Sanjay Raut, the executive editor of Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, and two others accusing them of defaming him. Later, a journalist was also arrested in the case.
