Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Vasant More on Friday staged a protest in the Katraj area of Pune and demanded completion of the Katraj-Kondhwa road. During the protest, he brought fake cobra snakes with him and tried to give those snakes to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Road Department Head Aniruddha Pawaskar.
This happened as the municipal officer and BJP MLC Yogesh Tilekar were conducting the review meeting on the Katraj-Kondhwa road.
As he held the discussion with Pawaskar, More asked when the civic body would complete the road, to which Pawaskar replied that the work has been going in the same direction. More also complained about the traffic at Katraj Chowk and nearby areas and asked when the civic body is completing the pending work at the chowk.
Protesters displayed placards reading “Stop the stunts, finish the Katraj-Kondhwa road” in a show of public frustration over the long delays.
Meanwhile, Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has committed to accelerating the long-pending Katraj-Kondhwa road widening project. At a review meeting held on Thursday, June 27, he directed senior municipal officials to hasten the land acquisition process. His instructions aim to ensure the project moves forward in line with the decisions taken during a recent meeting led by Legislative Council Chairman Ram Shinde.
