In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old BCom student suffered a bullet injury in his stomach after a man shot him in his father's store in the Pimpri Camp area. The incident took place on Friday afternoon.

According to the information received, Bhavesh Karkani, the injured student, was managing his father's store as the latter had gone to attend a funeral.

During this time, a motorcycle-borne man entered the store at 1:20pm wearing a helmet. He tried to snatch Bhavesh's gold chain. However, Bhavesh resisted and punched the man on the helmet. In an instant, the man took out a silver-coloured gun and fired a bullet towards Bhavesh. Immediately, the man ran towards his motorcycle and drove away.

Bhavesh was rushed to a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

According to the police, the attacker was wearing a raincoat, as seen in the CCTV footage recovered from the store and other neighbouring establishments.

Prima facie, it is a case of a robbery attempt, said the police, adding that they have formed multiple teams to trace the attacker.
