MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADT), located at Vishwarajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, Pune, has been awarded an 'A' grade (CGPA 3.11 on a 4.0 scale) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for a period of five years, in its very first accreditation cycle.

This recognition is a mark of pride, reflecting the academic excellence and overall quality of the institution, expressed Executive Director Prof Dr Sunita Mangesh Karad during a press conference organised by the university.

Present at the press meet were Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rajesh S, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Ramchandra Pujeri, Dr Mohit Dubey, Registrar Dr Mahesh Chopde and other esteemed dignitaries.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Rajesh S informed that the NAAC committee visited the university on February 10, 11 and 12 this year. The assessment was based on various parameters, including teaching-learning processes, infrastructure, quality standards, research, industry collaboration, student employability and outreach to marginalised communities. Based on this comprehensive evaluation, the university was awarded the prestigious 'A' grade for five years.

He further added that MIT-ADT University has always emphasised holistic development and skill-based education, even before the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP). The NAAC team also appreciated the university’s focus on high-quality research, proactive implementation of the NEP, and strong industry-academic linkages that have created multiple employment opportunities for students.

Registrar Dr Mahesh Chopde highlighted that it was the visionary leadership of Prof Dr Vishwanath D Karad who established the first private engineering college in Maharashtra in 1984 at Kothrud, recognising the need for private technical education in the state. Building on this legacy, MIT-ADT University was established in 2015 under his guidance and the leadership of Prof Dr Mangesh T Karad, with a vision to provide interdisciplinary education combining technology with art and design. The university was founded on the premises of Vishwarajbaug, once closely associated with legendary actor Raj Kapoor.

MIT-ADT has earned a reputation for offering unique programmes in Merchant Navy, Aerospace Engineering, Design, Management, Music, Dance, Drama, Food Technology, Civil Services (UPSC, MPSC), Law, Vedic Studies, Anthropology and more.

“The impressive QS World University Ranking (band 151–200), NIRF ranking and now the ‘A’ grade by NAAC in the very first cycle are feathers in the cap for MIT-ADT University. Our students are excelling across the globe, and their achievements are the true testimony to the quality of education imparted here," said Prof Dr Mangesh Karad, Executive President, MIT-ADT University, Pune.
