While Sinhagad Road witnessed a massive 6 km traffic jam causing delays of over four hours, another road in the Dhayari area faced unexpected congestion and public outrage—this time due to illegal road digging just four days after fresh repairs.
The road stretching from Dhayari village to DSK Vishwa Township was dug up by a builder near Chamunda Hotel on Tuesday morning just four days after it was repaired by the corporation.

Several commuters from DSK Vishwa, Eisha Erica, and nearby societies faced severe delays as traffic snarls were reported at the narrow stretch and a JCB began digging up the newly completed road, catching residents by surprise.
Many locals initially assumed it was a sanctioned civic project, raising concerns about transparency and misuse of public infrastructure.
However, as per the report by Sakal, during the digging, no engineers from the Pune Municipal Road or Sewerage Department were present on site and no official permission had been granted for the roadwork. It was revealed that a private construction contractor had begun unauthorized installation of a sewage pipeline.
Meanwhile, the PMC official has warned that a heavy fine will be imposed for the illegal dug-up and a case will be filed.
