Just hours after a hydrochloric acid tanker overturned in Tamhini Ghat, another potential disaster was narrowly avoided at Chovisawadi near Charholi Phata. A CNG leak was detected from a tempo, triggering immediate action.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad and Alandi Fire Brigades responded swiftly, successfully bringing the situation under control, reported Pune Mirror. As a safety measure, nearby shops were advised to shut down, and the incident briefly sparked panic among local residents.
Meanwhile, due to soil erosion induced by heavy rains along the roadside, a tanker carrying hydrochloric acid overturned on Sunday in the Raigad district's Tamhini Ghat area near Pune. Although the tanker sustained major damage in the collision, no fatalities were reported.
According to officials, the tanker lost control and overturned after part of the roadside collapsed due to continuous rain in the area. Emergency services quickly reached the spot, secured the area, and stopped the acid from spreading.
