Sunil Kakade officially assumed charge as the Chief Engineer of Mahavitaran’s Pune Zone on Friday, December 25. He replaced Rajendra Pawar, who has been appointed as Director (Human Resources) through a direct recruitment process. Kakade was earlier serving as the Chief Engineer of the Bhandup Zone.
A resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kakade holds a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his career in 1997 as an Assistant Engineer in the then Maharashtra State Electricity Board. In 2006, he was selected as an Executive Engineer through a direct recruitment process and went on to serve in Chalisgaon, Nashik, Bhusawal, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
After being promoted to superintendent engineer in 2017, he served in Kalyan, Ahilyanagar, and Bhandup. He was promoted to the post of Chief Engineer in December 2022 and was heading the Bhandup Zone until his recent transfer to Pune.

Speaking on his new role, Kakade said that under his leadership, the Pune Zone will prioritize prompt customer service and ensure efficient and high-quality electricity distribution. He also emphasized the importance of improving revenue collection systems under Mahavitaran as part of the 'Ease of Living' initiative.
