In a shocking incident at the Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha in Kothrud, Pune, a rat suddenly entered the clothes of a female audience member during a play on May 31.

A woman had come with her family to watch the play. At that time, a rat suddenly got into the woman's saree. This incident caused a commotion while the play was going on. The female audience member had to take an injection to prevent infection as the rat's claws scratched her leg.

According to information received, the incident took place on Sunday at 9:30 pm during the play. After 10 to 15 minutes of the play, a rat suddenly got into the clothes of a female audience member. However, this woman, showing caution, came out of the auditorium without making any fuss and ran to the toilet. It took 15 to 20 minutes to get the rat out. The woman's husband handled the incident with great patience in a very difficult situation.

After this disgusting incident, the female audience member and her family did not want to watch the play at all. They left for their homes without watching the play. The Deputy Commissioner of the Pune Municipal Corporation's Cultural Department called an urgent meeting in this regard today. Fortunately, the rat did not bite the female audience member seriously, so there was no more serious danger. This incident is very serious. The management of Yashwantrao Natya Mandir is being demanded to take immediate notice of this and control the rats.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Kamate, Administrative Officer of the PMC Cultural Department, told FPJ that at the recently concluded meeting, members of Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, the electricity department, and the ward officer of the area were present.

"At the initial stage, we will conduct pest control at all 15 cultural centers under the PMC. Guards will be stationed outside the theater to prevent the audience from taking food inside. It is true that rats are already present inside the theater. Certain chemicals, such as naphthalene balls, will be used to prevent rats from entering the premises. To address the issue of food eaten by people, which attracts rats, strict measures will be implemented to ensure that food is not taken into the theater. We concluded that strict measures will be taken to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in and around the cultural center premises," he said.
