Pune Police's Crime Branch have arrested four notorious criminals for illegally possessing weapons. They were arrested from the Wagholi area, officials said on Wednesday. Four country-made pistols and five live cartridges have been seized from them.

The action was taken by Crime Branch Unit 6. They have arrested Suraj aka Nanya Santosh More (age 19) and Onkar Arun Nadawadekar (age 19, both residents of Wagholi), Jagdish aka Kack Shankar Dodmani (age 24), and Swayam aka Anna Vijay Surve (age 19, both residents of Yerawada).
According to police reports, accused More and Nadawadekar were standing at a lake near Bhawadi Road. Police Constables Nitin Ghadage and Nirnay Lande received a tip-off that they had weapons with them.
Police laid a trap and detained the duo. Weapons were found with them. During interrogation, they said their friends Dodmani and Surve also had weapons. Police detained them too. Currently, investigation is underway to determine from whom they received the weapons.
The action was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pankaj Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajendra Mulik. The team, led by Police Inspector Wahid Pathan, included Assistant Police Inspector Rakesh Kadam and others.
Additionally, one more arrest was made by Wagholi Police of a person possessing a country-made pistol illegally. The accused in this case has been identified as Ambaji Kalyan Shinge (age 25, resident of Hadapsar). Police Constable Pradeep Mote reported the incident to Wagholi Police Station. One pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from him.
