In a significant crackdown on illegal drug trade, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police have seized a large quantity of ganja from a shop operating in Bavdhan. The operation was carried out following confidential information received by officers during routine patrolling on Pashan-Sus Road.
PIs Santosh Patil and Vikram Gaikwad, along with their team, acted swiftly upon the tip-off and raided the suspected shop. During the operation, the police recovered 20.736 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth ₹11.27 Lakh in the illegal market.
In addition to the narcotics, the team also confiscated three mobile phones and undisclosed cash, all of which are now part of the investigation.
A case has been registered under Sections 8(a), 20(b)(ii)(a), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway to identify the broader network behind the sale and distribution.
