The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun preparations for its budget for the financial year 2026–27. It has invited citizens to submit proposals for developmental works in their respective wards.
Residents can suggest projects they believe should be included in the upcoming budget by filling out application forms, which will be available free of cost at all PMC regional offices. Forms can be availed during office hours from August 1 to September 1.

Moreover, suggestions can also be submitted online through the PMC Care App, where a digital version of the form can be filled out and sent directly to the civic body. The last date for submission both online and offline is September 1, 2025, by 5:30 pm.
Officials from PMC said the initiative aims to involve citizens directly in local planning and ensure that ward-level priorities are reflected in the city’s development plans.
Citizen engagement model was brought in by NGO Janwani from 2006 financial year in an attempt for inclusive governance and improving public involvement in policy planning of municipal bodies.
Since 2022, elections for corporators are not being held for civic bodies in the state, so the participative measures are included by PMC to get public opinion in budgetary decisions.
The then Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale had presented the PMC’s annual budget for FY 2025-26 of Rs 12,618 crore, marking a rise of Rs 1,017 crore. And PMC also continued without raising the property tax.
