An X (formerly Twitter) user, Amit Paranjape, took to the microblogging site on Wednesday and highlighted the quality of roads and cleanliness in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) as compared to its elder cousin, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
He wrote, "Recently drove around Pimpri and Chinchwad — the first thing you notice — significantly better road quality and lane markings, pedestrian crossings, etc. Fewer speed breakers, and they are better designed. Overall cleanliness looks better as well."
Paranjape added that the PMC must take cues from the PCMC. "Something for @PMCPune to look at and hopefully adopt some of the @pcmcindiagovin best practices!"
Meanwhile, users commented that PCMC has always had better infrastructure than PMC.
"PCMC has always had better infrastructure and quality of infrastructure too — not just roads but public health infra too," a user said.

"I visit Pune about once a year. Having grown up there in the '90s and 2000s, I'm shocked at how it has exponentially gotten worse and how nothing is being done to fix basic issues," a second user emphasised.
"Agree PCMC is much better planned than PMC, although not ideal. Better roads, space, gardens. Newly developed areas like Balewadi, Baner, Pashan, etc., are very congested in PMC without any gardens, open space, or wider roads," a third user quipped.
