Pune Police, in the last two days, have busted three sex rackets in Baner, Viman Nagar and Dhanori, respectively, and rescued a total of 23 women, including foreign nationals and minors, officials said on Wednesday.
In the first operation in Baner on Tuesday, the police arrested Abbas Hussain (21), manager of Unique Spa, for operating a prostitution den. Chandrashekhar Sawant, Senior Police Inspector of Baner Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, "There are four accused in the matter, including the spa owner. Abbas Hussain was arrested on the spot. However, the other three are on the run. They will be arrested soon." "We have rescued two girls from the spa. They are not minors and are natives of Pune city," he added.

In the second operation in Viman Nagar, the police raided Mansion Spa, located near Datta Mandir Chowk, on Tuesday evening. The police have arrested the accused Kunal Dattatre Ghodke (31), who is the manager of the spa. However, two other accused are on the run. Senior Inspector Govind Jadhav, Airport Police Station, said the rescued women include 10 from Thailand, three from Maharashtra, and one each from Delhi, Chandigarh and Assam. "Acting on a tip-off, the police sent a decoy customer to confirm the activity before raiding the facility located on the third floor of a housing society. The women have been sent to a correctional home," he added.
Jadhav said that on Monday, five women, including two minors, were rescued from Luxe Spa situated in Dhanori. In the raid, the manager of the spa, Kiran Baburao Aade (28), was arrested, he added.
