Union’s District President Ram Baheti informed during the conclusion of the morcha that a meeting was held with Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar, and he has assured that no one will be removed from the government Gairan lands. Hence, no one can touch the encroachment on the Gairan, Baheti said.
The union had organised meetings in around 40 to 45 villages about land rights for the past 10 days before organising the morcha. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Collector Dilip Swami, on July 17, issued a notification that all encroachments on the Gairan lands will be removed.

Some people have been living on these lands for several years. If they are removed all of a sudden, they will become homeless. Hence, the Gairan holders have demanded that the notification be cancelled and that they be given ownership rights to the land.
Their names should be included in the 7/12 extracts of the Gairan lands. After the notification of the district collector, the landholders panicked. Such a notification was not issued by any other district; this fact was brought to the notice of the Divisional Commissioner. The notification was issued due to pressure from the Guardian Minister, the agitators claimed.
