Following the collapse at Kundmala in the Maval area near Talegaon Dabhade in Pune district on Sunday, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) immediately launched a rescue operation.
The bridge, built over the Indrayani River, is a popular tourist spot. At least two people have been confirmed dead, while several others are feared drowned after the sudden collapse.
The incident happened on a busy Sunday, with many visitors present at the site. Local police, fire brigade, and villagers joined the rescue efforts.
Heavy rains over the past two days raised the river’s water levels, making rescue operations difficult. Authorities continue to search for missing persons and more details are awaited
