Satara: A true teacher never retires, and their connection to providing education never breaks. A similar example is this 80-year-old teacher, Tarabai Hindurao Nikam, who took a class of primary students at this age.
She also used a modern interactive board, which residents are appreciating, saying it is quite compelling for her age.
She is a native of Apshinge village in Satara District. She has a huge legacy in the primary education of the area, as countless students have had her as a teacher.
She started teaching in 1964, and after 40 years of service, she retired in 2004. Even after her retirement, she was in close contact with her principal, colleagues, and students, and used to take classes as a guest lecturer and visiting faculty from time to time.

Her school, the only primary school in her village, always invites her as a guest whenever there is an event or function.
Recently, she visited Apshinge School on the occasion of one such program. However, during this visit, she not only participated in the program but also took a class for the students beforehand.
On this occasion, Tarabai Nikam also gave inspiring advice to the students. She expressed her affection for the school and did not forget to tell them the value of education, the importance of values, and the importance of parents. She said that the attitude of constantly learning something new takes a person forward.
Nikam Madam, who was fondly known as Masterin Bai, also used a new-age interactive board. The students enthusiastically asked her many questions, and she answered all of them in simple language. Through her experience, the old-age education system was revealed. She also explained the importance of modern technology.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Management Committee, Kishore More, Principal Mangal Jagtap, as well as all the teachers and students present, seeing the enthusiasm of her teaching at the age of 80, took her blessings and thanked her profusely.
