In a joint action by the Karmad rural police and Anti human trafficking Cell (AHTC), a sex racket was being operated in Hotel Dinesh in Hasnabad in Karmad area recently.
The police rescued six Bangladeshi women and a local woman being forcibly dragged in the flesh trade. The hotel owner Rajesh Bhausaheb Magare (26, Badnapur, Jalna) and the manager (Sagar Ganesh Salunke (27, Chikalthana) have been arrested. The police have seized articles worth Rs 95,890 from them.
According to the details, AHTC API Sarla Gadekar received the confidential information that a sex racket is being operated in Hotel Dinesh in Karmad area. The owner and the manager for their personal gains have forcibly dragged women in the flesh trade. As the women were illiterate and poor, the accused had taken undue advantage of their condition.
Under the guidance of SP Dr Vinaykumar Rathod, the Karmad police and AHTC officers laid a trap and conducted a raid on July 21. Initially, the police sent a dummy customer in the hotel, who demanded a girl. The deal was fixed at Rs 500. He was taken in a room on the first floor, where a woman was sent to his room. The customer then signalled the police team hiding around the hotel.
The team entered the hotel and arrested the owner and the manager. The action was conducted under the guidance of SP Dr Rathod, additional SP Annapurna Singh, sub-divisional police officer Puja Nagare by API Gadekar, Prapat Navghare, Swapnil Narwade, Vinod Bhalerao, Dilip Salve, Kapil Bankar, Irshad Pathan, Bhagyashree Chavan, Manisha Salvi, Sandeep Thorat, Sunil Gore, Santosh Timkikar and others.
