An 11-year-old girl, Sagarika (name changed), was kidnapped from Garkheda areas on Wednesday evening for a ransom of Rs 1.5 crore. However, the kidnapping bid was foiled due to the alertness of her car driver and the nearby residents.

All the accused wanted to get rich in less time and without taking any efforts. Hence, they planned the kidnapping of Sagarika. When they took the girl in their car, they asked for the number of her grandfather, and she told them that it was ‘100’.

The girl, without fear, answered and counter-questioned the kidnappers, due to which their confidence was shaken. They left the girl on the road and fled, leaving their car behind. The police have launched a massive manhunt for the absconding accused.

Kidnappers still at large

The kidnappers, after taking the girl in the car, left her on the road and fled away, leaving the car behind. The police have arrested accused Balasaheb Ashok More (38, Vitthalwadi, Ambad, Jalna) and Sandeep alias Pappu Sahebrao Pawar (35, Jamkhed, Ambad, Jalna) in a hotel on Ambad Road late Thursday night, informed CP Praveen Pawar.

The mastermind of the kidnapping, Ganesh Dnyaneshwar More (30), and his relative Baliram alias Bhaiyya Mahajan (Vitthalwadi), are still at large. The uncle-nephews, Balasaheb and Ganesh, had planned the kidnapping.

Ganesh, Balasaheb, Sandeep, and Baliram are from the same locality in Jamkhed in Jalna district. A few days back, the grandfather of the victim Sagarika, who is also from the same village, had organised a function in the village temple. The accused came to know that he had earned a huge amount of money in a very short time. Hence, they targeted the family. Ganesh kept a watch on the movement of Sagarika for 15 days, and the plan of kidnapping was done accordingly.
