Aurangabad Shocker: Man Beats Pregnant Wife to Death Over Suspicion That Child in Her Womb Is Not His |

A man is accused of severely beating his pregnant wife to death on the suspicion that the child in her womb is not his. The suspect is also accused of compelling the victim to keep illicit relations with other men. The incident occurred in Jogeshwari in the Waluj area on Thursday. A case has been registered against the husband and mother-in-law with the Waluj MIDC Police Station.

The victim, Simran Parasram Batham (29), was a resident of Sindhi Camp, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and she had been living in Ranjangaon in the Waluj area for the past many years. The suspects have been identified as Zahir Nazir Shaikh (20) and his mother, Nazia Nazir Shaikh, both residents of Jogeshwari.

The suspects have been arrested following a complaint by the victim’s mother, Phulwati Parasram Batham.

According to the details, Simran’s father, Parasram Batham, died in 2016, and she came to the Waluj area. Seven years ago, she married a man from Waluj named Baba Syed, but they were separated due to the frequent quarrels that erupted between them. She had a four-year-old son from Syed. Later, she met Zahir, and they married through a notary.

Simran was two months pregnant

Simran was two months pregnant during her murder. It’s alleged that Zahir often suspected her character and believed that the child in her womb was not his. He used to frequently beat her. She complained about it to her mother on the phone on several occasions.

Last November, she went to her mother in Gwalior and told her that her husband and mother-in-law often beat her and compelled her to keep relations with other men. If she does not obey them, they severely beat her and her four-year-old son, she told her mother.

On Dec 19, Simran made a video call to her mother and told her that they were severely beating her. Zahir also kicked her in the stomach, and they allegedly forced her to eat something. However, her condition deteriorated, and she was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where the doctors declared her dead after examination.

On receiving the information, Simran’s mother and relatives came to Waluj from Gwalior. They took the stand that they would not perform the last rites on Simran unless strict action was taken against the accused. PI Krishna Shinde assured that adequate legal action will be taken, and then the last rites were performed on Dec 21.
