Nashik city’s residents will have to take special care today as the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to shut down the water supply of the entire city for testing, maintenance and repair work of the substation of the Bara Bangla Water Purification Project under the Smart City Project.
Testing and installation of SCADA system
A SCADA system is being installed in various water purification centres in Nashik city under the Smart City Project. Due to this, there is a possibility of a low-pressure water supply on Sunday morning as well.
Due to the shutdown of the water supply, the pumping stations on Gangapur, Chehedi and Mukane dams will also remain closed for some time. Also, maintenance and repair work will be done in the relevant water channels. This will affect the water supply of the entire city.
The NMC has appealed to the citizens to store water and use it carefully. The water supply will remain closed throughout the day on Saturday, while the supply is likely to resume on Sunday morning with low pressure.
